Careers and Education Expo
Tuart College at the Expo
The College took the opportunity to have a presence at the EXPO that was held at the Perth Convention Centre from Friday 16 May to Sunday 18 May. Our display emphasised the College’s adult ethos, its philosophy of a second chance at education, the multicultural mix of students and the many and diverse range of programs and courses that can be studied.
There was a steady arrival of interested visitors to the College’s display booth requesting information about what the College offers and where it is located. The marketing of the College, over the three days, stressed the uniqueness of the College’s teaching and learning environment and was greatly enhanced by the staff members who volunteered their time to help. They were friendly, smiled broadly, chatted enthusiastically and disseminated useful information and in doing so contributed significantly to portraying a positive image of the College.
Special mention needs to be made of the contributions of Les Phillips, who set up and dismantled our display and whose enthusiasm for the College was so evident over the days of the EXPO. Most sincere appreciation is also extended to Jan Kirkman, Carla Bormolini, Di Hann, Christine Richardson-Maher, Kaye Ross, Robyn Stevens and John Willmott, who collectively were such fine ambassadors of the College.
The EXPO organizers have indicated that over nine thousand people attended the Expo and we got to speak to some 300 of them.
We’ll be EXPOing again during the Careers Choices Expo 2008 which will be held at the Claremont Showground Exhibition Centre between Friday 20 June and Sunday 22 June.
Come and join us.
